For parents and guardians, plainly
A child’s visit is different from an adult’s, and you stay in the room. Techniques for children use far less force, the examination is explained step by step, and nothing happens without your understanding and consent.
What a guardian should know
- Consent: A parent or legal guardian completes intake and signs for a minor, inside the secure clinical system — never through this website.
- Presence: You remain with your child for the entire visit.
- Force: Pediatric techniques are measured to the child. Many use light instrument or fingertip pressure.
- Scope: Care addresses musculoskeletal comfort and movement. Claims about treating childhood illnesses are not made here.
When the pediatrician comes first
Fever, injury after significant trauma, developmental concerns, or anything that worries you as a parent belongs with your pediatrician first. If the history or exam raises those flags, the office will tell you directly.
Questions worth bringing
- What exactly will you do during the exam, and can you show me first?
- How is the technique different for a child this age?
- What would make you refer us to our pediatrician?
